We talk about world building and... um.... Clowns? Honestly I can't remember what I say on these things after I'm done with them. So your guess is probably as good as mine....
And for those of you that have e-mailing and asking, yes I do have a facebook account. That's really me on there. So, feel free to ADD ME, if you like. The more the merrier, as far as I'm concerned.
If you're looking for the deluxe facebook experience, you could sign up for the facebook group someone created a while back... It's called: PAT ROTHFUSS'S LEGION OF FANATICAL MINIONS.
And it's back to revisions for me....

Pretty good interview, although I feel the interviewer is mighty quirky. Oh well, most interviewers are pretty dull so I guess its a good contrast.
I hope you're able to follow this link to a news article about ramen lovers, because it's right up your alley (if your alley was located in Japan, that is):

Alas, no such luck; I'll summarize. An enterprising company in Japan offers "ramen baths"; essentially a public spa designed to looke like bowls of ramen. Very curious.
Although I'm with Pat in that I like ramen, I don't think I'd enjoy bathing in it. Ew.
Good interview, though.
I liked the interview. I appreciated the honesty about what a new author can expect, even after a high-publicity novel.
A wonderful interview Pat, I liked your interviewer as well. He enhanced your natural charm and quirkiness and gave you a lot of opportunity and room to shine.
Hooray for revisions! I'm going back to watch Dr Who know, horray for mininova!
I'm going to be a non-affiliated minion. I won't sign up for Facebook or MySpace etc for the same reason I will never play golf or World of Warcraft or try heroin: These things seem to have a way of taking over people's lives, and I don't be one of them.
Jillian:
Good. I should have stipulated that earlier. I don't want people signing up for those things because I'm there. (Good lord, are they huge time wasters.)
I'm just throwing them out there for people who are already hooked, if they want to come with the rest of us...
I tried myspace once... I think my failure comes from my apparent lack of ability to find 'friends'. My wife has a billion more than I do, and taunts me over it. Since when did this become a competition? Perhaps I'm not arbetrary enough in my selection. At any rate, I suppose I'll request an add. That'll put me at 29 :)
Shame on you, Pat! You are teasing me with out of print titles! Never Deal with a Dragon by Robert N. Charrette is not readily available and I was immediately intrigued by the title. I suppose I will have to pony up the cash to a stray seller on Amazon or eBay. Work didn't even have it and interlibrary loans are on hold until the move into the Illustrious New Central Branch...
By the by, as much as I enjoy seeing you on myspace and facebook (my geeky heart beats faster just knowing you cyberly) sometimes I worry for your revisions. ;-)
