So how many people have come back here several times today, expecting to see something besides nothing...then seeing nothing, think that perhaps it is something that you are mistaking as nothing...and then realize you're making your head hurt and leave? Oh, just me...ok.
hahahah yes, please, keep it, no matter how many people say this, it never ceases to amaze when when the blog with no words on it gets 20 comments. See how much we love you? hahah neo-minimalist conservatism...
Pat, I think you should make this a regular feature. "Friday Neo-Minimalist Conservative Open Thread" or something. Who knows what the discussion will turn to?
This is a great time to dive into a story I've been waiting to bring up, because technically now it can't be off topic :)
My wife walked by one day while I was reading your blog. She asked "Who's Patrick of the Russ?" I quickly corrected her and silently prayed that you hadn't detected the subtle vibrations of her dyslexic goof-up rippling through the sub-aether.
How exactly she derived that title out of your name, I will never know. The name, however, is quite catchy and has taken a life of its own in my household. To us, you will forever be known as Patrick of the Russ. Sory :)
Word just in from the BBC. "There has been an outbreak of people posting on no subject matter. This alarming trend has been spotted on websites across the world. The government have issued a yellow alert status. They urge all citizens to stay calm and remain indoors and only post comments on titled posts. So far enquiries into who is responsible for this outbreak have been hampered by the overwhelming numbers of people involved. However most believe it is the work of the NMC. A revolutionary faction led by a man known to his followers as Patrick of the Russ. He is described as Ten feet tall with two blue up lighters strapped to his feet. Police have dismissed Papa Smurf from there enquiries.”
I wouldn't really say this made my day, because I'm on vacation and have had a great day. But perusing this has definately made my day much better. Thanks.
Okay, admittedly, I am quite punchy right now. Well, all the time actually, these days. But for some reason, when I read about Patrick of the Russ, I started singing it to myself, to the tune of the Farmer in the Dell, which is one of my son's favorite songs right now.
He's Patrick of the Russ, Patrick of the Russ, hi ho the dairy-o, he's Patrick of the Russ.
People with kids always add that extra special perspective.
My kid would think he was too cool to sing farmer in the dell. He won't sing twinkle, twinkle little star, either, but he'll sing his ABC's all day long... It's the same tune, kid! I thank his mother for these delusions.
Anyway, refocus... I think jessica's new tune should be the national anthem of Russland.

blankness?
Talk about building suspense!!!
Blankness of doom!!
*turns up the eerie suspense music*
Yeah. This is something new I'm trying with the blog. I'm thinking of calling it neo-minimalist conservatism.
So this is the winner of the "Neo-Minimalist Conservatism" category of the photo contest.
Very simple, yet complex.
Just as I expected...
"I shall fill this space with nothingness and it shall be good"
Damn you Rothfuss and your cryptic ways!
You know you have a popular blog when you post nothing and still get comments ;).
I believe Pat put on his bullshit hat to make us all think there's a spoon...but there is no spoon
I can't wait for the next post. My favorite part was when Pat said, "". Gets me every time.
Ah. Very clever, very clever indeed.
I think.
Is anyone else getting a strong rabbit-hole vibe? Holy hell, we're through the looking glass here, folks.

Through the rabbit hole indeed. It almost looks like he's trying to create a zero point field here. Behold the vacuum!
Good Lord, 16, now 17 comments on a non-post. Only for Pat.
Get a job you bum.
I was going to erase this, but it's gotten too amusing....
hahahah

This is, by far, the best demonstration of our need for a forum.
Pat, I hope you can use this as proof to higher powers.
"There is no spoon"- I love you guys.

I believe you 'Patrick of the Russ' may follow you around Pat.
I think it's wicked cool.

A great and wonderful point!
.
Interesting. I knew nothing of this subject. Thanks for the information, Pat. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to go wallow in self-pity.

Okay, now, I will go work. Really. Swear to God.
